Is This Beginning of the Rise of AI-powered Technology?

Right now, ChatGPT is trending, and for good reason! In fact, ChatGPT is so popular that if you go to their website, you’re more likely to receive a clever little message about how they are at capacity instead of being able to give them a test run. They even have a “get notified when we’re back” option.

So what is ChatGPT and why all the chatter? The simple answer: it’s an AI-powered chatbot developed by OpenAi. The more complicated, more accurate answer: It’s a chatbot with the ability to give you an extremely detailed, human-like response with examples if you need them. It can fix your broken code, solves equations, and even creates a shopping list based on your response. Of course, it continues to learn the more it interacts with humans.

You are probably wondering how this might impact your business. Well, let’s dive into that a little bit, because ChatGPT is already making waves in the world of business, and our daily lives, and it seems to have started an AI race similar to the ongoing Space Race.

Expect to see a wave of improved chatbots and virtual assistants like Siri and Alexa. As with all advances in technology, the competition is rarely far behind. You should also expect to see better office tools for business owners, entrepreneurs, and creators. As technology improves and more people start to use this and similar technology, we will likely see an influx of new Apps that will change our business and daily lives in ways that we can’t even imagine yet. There’s no doubt that AI-powered chatbots will be good for business for many people, but it may also put some people out of business as what they do may become obsolete.

Think about this for a moment. How nice would it be to go to a website, put in a question and the chatbot actually answers the question you asked? We’ve all been there before. You go to a website to find something and interact with the most unhelpful chatbot that gives you answers to every question, except the one you asked of course. How many times have you called a company and found yourself yelling at their automated system for 20 minutes before it finally redirects you to an actual human? What you could do with all that extra time, or what it would mean for job security if the automated system simply fixed your problem? While some are afraid of what this may mean, others are embracing it with open arms and ready to see what happens next. There are still so many unanswered questions until we are able to see how ChatGPT develops over time.

Could AI-powered chatbots and automated systems be the wave of the future? I suggest you check it out for yourself but don’t be surprised if you have to try it a few times before you are able to give it a test run for yourself. I’m sure this won’t be the first time this year I talk about ChatGPT, so let’s just keep an eye out and see how this progresses as we go through 2023.
